Making Ama More Reliable, More, Personalized, More Reliable, and More Proactive
This month, we made major improvements to the child and family experience in Ama, with a focus on making practice easier to start and continue.

Ama’s child-facing user interface is proactive, allowing interactions in text or speech.
One of the biggest upgrades is that Ama is becoming more proactive. Instead of waiting for a caregiver or child to manually decide what to work on next, Ama can now prioritize recently assigned or higher-priority programs and guide the child toward the most relevant practice. This helps keep learning momentum going while making it easier for families to stay aligned with the goals their care team has already approved.
We also strengthened how reliably Ama adapts to each child. Reading level and grade level are now applied more consistently across lesson types, helping activities stay better matched to the child’s needs throughout the experience. We also improved how lower reading levels render visually, with clearer spacing, simpler paragraph structure, and easier-to-read formatting.
Behind the scenes, we improved how child profile information and uploaded context are incorporated into Ama, making it easier for care teams to keep practice aligned with the child’s needs. Clinicians also have better visibility into how practice is happening across their caseload. The updated practice metrics dashboard highlights active clients, lessons assigned, total sessions, practice time, average session length, and recent activity, with expandable client-level details when teams need a closer look.

At a glance, you can now see important engagement metrics across the organization or your caseload.
Additional improvements:
Upgraded read-aloud with more natural voices.
Added voice previews so families can hear a voice before choosing it.
Added reading speed controls for children who need a slower or faster pace.
Fixed microphone and speech-to-text issues across mobile devices and browsers.
Added kid-friendly error handling when something goes wrong mid-lesson.
Added new activity formats including a Scavenger Hunt that uses the camera functionality to identify requested objects.
Improved safety and moderation to reduce false flags and interruptions.
Strengthened privacy protections around child names and personal information.
Improved the family invite process with downloadable handouts, activation codes, and better visibility into family setup status.
Fixed document upload processing issues and improved general app stability.
Added a Support page with helpful video resources.
And more...
Together, these updates move Ama closer to the experience we’re building toward: A guided learning companion that helps children practice the right skills at the right time, while keeping families and care teams better connected to what is happening between sessions.
We’re currently inviting ABA therapy clinics to pilot Ama and help us continue improving how children practice approved goals between sessions. Schedule a 15-minute intro to learn more.
