This month, we made major improvements to how families and professionals create and use activities in Ama, with a focus on more personalized Social Stories, clearer activity choices, and a more accessible experience for learners.

A More Powerful Social Story Experience
We’ve upgraded Social Stories from creation through completion, making them more personal and easier to navigate.
You can now create a personalized Social Story using photos from a learner’s real life. Upload pictures of an actual routine or experience like riding the school bus, visiting the dentist, or attending a birthday party and Ama will interpret the images and draft a story around them.
The guided process lets you:
Start with photos or a written description
Choose the skills you want to target
Review and edit everything before publishing
Stories can also include recurring characters, so the same child, sibling, parent, teacher, or pet maintains a consistent appearance from page to page. We also rebuilt the learner experience with simpler navigation designed for young and neurodiverse learners, redesigned answer-choice cards, and a discussion that ties the story together at the end. Questions and answer options can now be read aloud as well, helping learners who are not yet reading independently work through the experience on their own.

An Improved Activity Creation Experience
We’ve made it easier to understand, choose, and personalize the right activity for each learner. The improved creation process now lets families preview each activity format, see clear explanations of how it works, and select the specific skills they want to target using plain, everyday language rather than clinical terminology. Families also have more opportunities to review and edit an activity before using it with their learner.
Other Improvements
We also made many other improvements across Ama.
Improved support for phones and tablets
Added a mobile quick-actions bar for common parent tasks
Improved text-to-speech quality and reliability
Fixed an iOS issue that caused the screen to remain zoomed in after selecting a text field
...and more!
We’re currently inviting select care teams to pilot Ama and help us continue improving how children practice approved goals between sessions. Schedule a 15-minute intro to learn more.
